Alturas Intertie Transmission Line Project Image

The 164-mile, 345-kilovolt transmission line between Alturas, California and Reno, Nevada traverses a variety of sensitive habitats to provide a reliable source of power to California and Nevada residents.

On behalf of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), ESA managed the Mitigation Monitoring Compliance and Reporting Program for the Alturas Intertie transmission line. Our full-time monitors were in the field throughout the three-year construction period. Our team of general-compliance and cultural-resources monitors coordinated with the CPUC, Bureau of Land Management, California Department of Fish and Game, and U.S. Forest Service to ensure compliance with CEQA/NEPA mitigation measures and permit requirements.

ESA successfully managed a multi-year, multi-agency compliance reporting program as this transmission line was constructed.
